Why I do what I do

This weekend was a good reminder. Laughing, laughing, and more laughing with these two cute couples :)
More to come! :)

My inner child...

...went crazy when I found this today! :)

My mum and I went to a nearby beach to see all the flood debris. This tree we found is a LOT bigger than it looks - probably as big as a small house.

As we walked past, I had a quick peak inside through a little doorway area I found, and it was more wonderful than I could have imagined! I wish I could show you more, but I only had my 50mm lens. Isn't this the most amazing tree you've ever seen!? Who wouldn't want to climb it!? (I climbed it, and let me tell you, you want to climb this tree!)
Now, who wants to do a photo shoot inside this little secret hideaway with me? :)

Flood

At high tide tomorrow, Brisbane will be flooded worse than the 1974 floods. Today we went up Mt Coot-tha to see what we could see.
It's hard to see but the river has broken it's banks on either side.
There wasn't too much to see from the look-out, so we decided to go as close to the city as we could.
How tall are traffic lights?
You can just see the top of the picket fence around this house.
That's Suncorp Stadium at the end of this street.
Sandbagging businesses.
These houses must be two-storeys.
There are helicopters everywhere.
At least in Brisbane we have warning, and we know that the water is coming. Houses and business are still going under, but at least people have been evacuated. Other towns haven't been as fortunate.

Please pray for Australia.

(We live away from the river and up high, so we aren't directly affected by the flood.)

UPDATE: Brisbane River peaked lower than expected, however the clean-up and rebuilding is still going to be a very long, hard process, and the weather is moving south and affecting more towns and states. Your prayers and help where possible are appreciated.

Sandra and Matthew Wedding

My last wedding for 2010 :)

The day before the wedding I met Sandra and Matthew at the location for a rehearsal. The wind blew cold and fierce but could not move the clouds from the sky. It started to rain. But the next day, surrounded by many friends and family, and watched by the neighbours across the road, we had clear skies over the ocean, red roses, and diamonds. It was all good :)
Thanks for letting me be a part of your day :)
